HUSTISFORD, Wis. — The Hustisford village clerk is arrested on embezzlement charges.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says it was called in this month to investigate the village finances and reportedly found Clerk and Treasurer Kim Hopfinger was stealing money.
An exact amount has not been released, but investigators are recommending Hopfinger face a charge of theft by employment greater than $10,000 but less than $100,000.
She has been the village clerk for 25 years.
Detectives believe Hopfinger was also stealing from the Hustisford Soccer Club while serving as that group’s treasurer.
No formal charges have been filed.
