GREEN BAY, WI — The sudden shutdown of Newcap puts two-point-one million dollars in federal grants in jeopardy.
Housing and Urban Development grants are used to provide rental assistance payments to 134 low-income tenants across a 12-county area. U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin is joining state lawmakers and other homeless advocates in asking that the grants be transferred to other agencies for use in the area.
Newcap closed its offices in Green Bay on Tuesday–and laid off all of its staff.
