I was about 4 years old when the 1st Mortal Kombat video game came out.
I was 7 when the first movie came out.
Was that too young to be exposed to violence like that?
I’m not sure… I’m not a doctor, but I DO know that it has been a major influence in my life.
When the reboot was released. It was during Covid. What would’ve been a major movie event in a normal environment was a bit hamstrung by unforeseen circumstances.
I say all that to say, this is the 1st Mortal Kombat movie that went to theaters in over 30 years and I was very, VERY excited about it.
Is the plot revolutionary? No.
Is the acting transcendent? No.
Is the violence graphic? You bet.
Was I smiling the entire movie? Yep.
