APPLETON, Wis. — For decades, the Building for Kids Children’s Museum has tossed around the idea of opening a preschool.
This fall, that idea will finally become reality.
After years of exploring what a preschool could look like and working with local childcare providers and early childhood organizations, the museum is launching Launchpad Playful Preschool, a new program for children ages 3 to 5. Launchpad will be located on the third floor of First 5 Fox Valley’s Family Resource Center, 111 W. College Ave., directly across the street from the museum.
The preschool’s first school year is expected to run from Oct. 5 through June 4. Families can choose morning or afternoon sessions and enroll for five, three or two days per week. Enrollment will be accepted on a rolling basis.
The museum says Launchpad is designed around playful learning, giving children opportunities to explore, create and build confidence while preparing for kindergarten.
Additional details about the daily schedule and curriculum will be shared as enrollment opens.
During Focus Fox Valley, Beth Vanderloop, VP of Learning & Engagement shared more about the upcoming launch.
Interview starts around 38:40.
