There are plans for Appleton public schools to reopen in September, and most grades will have classes in-person and online.
The school board is supporting the proposal, and it gives families options.
Students from early learning to fourth grade can be in school five days a week. From fifth through 12th grade, they can have in-person classes twice a week, and virtual learning three days.
Parents can also choose to have online classes every day.
Superintendent Judy Baseman says they’ll have to be flexible, depending on the spread of coronavirus. She says she’ll listen to medical experts, and do what they need to do to keep people safe.
All students will have to wear masks when they’re at school.
The hybrid plan calls for one group of students to be in school on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the second on Thursdays and Fridays. Schools will be deep cleaned on Wednesdays, and over the weekend.
