If I were a PGA Tour player right now, I ‘d be really P.O’d. Your commissioner, Jay Monahan, announced Tuesday with virtually no input from his players, that the PGA Tour, DP World tour and yes, the blood money-Saudi funded LIV Tour, were essentially merging…one big dysfunctional family!
Players were rightfully furious—”What, a merger after what we were told? Don’t go there, we’ll strip you of your playing rights, ban you from an easy return to the tour. Stay with us because we’re going to shower you with more money, better facilities, more fans, etc.” Again, with no input from the players.
Sure, in time, this will likely make more sense as many questions are left unanswered. That said, if I were Commissioner Monahan, I’d sharpen up my resume.
