TOWN OF FREEDOM, Wis. — A person is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Outagamie County.
The sheriff’s office says a 52-year-old Oneida resident was walking on State Highway 55 in the town of Freedom when they were struck by a vehicle around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 78-year-old De Pere resident driving the vehicle remained on scene and is said to be cooperating with law enforcement.
The crash remains under investigation.
