APPLETON, Wis. — The Appleton Common Council Wednesday approves a resolution terminating the city’s contract with Flock for license plate reader cameras.
The city notified Flock last month it would end the use of its cameras on June 30. It also asked the company to disable the cameras and remove them by July 31.
Mayor Jake Woodford says the city put covers on those cameras and is awaiting action from Flock. He also addressed public concerns that some are still uncovered……….
The common council also voted to refer back to the Safety and Licensing Committee a resolution to establish public oversight and accountability standards for automated license plate readers. The committee will meet on July 22.
