Earth Day is this Monday, April 22 and we’re learning about a fun event this weekend for the whole family! Loop the Lake is sponsored by the Sierra Club Fox Valley Group and takes place on Saturday, April 20. You can walk all or some of the stroller-friendly 3.5 mile Loop the Lake trail. It’s a first of it’s kind 4K program in Wisconsin, and soon the nature-based learning facility will be ready to take on young minds! The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is currently building a 12,800 square foot addition adjacent to the current Nature Center building. Gail Garrity-Reed, Fund Development for Friends of Wildlife Sanctuary, who is also part of the design team with the expansion project, spoke with us about what this expansion will mean for their program.
