Let me start this off by saying, I recognize how ridiculous this statement is going to sound, but I really was expecting something great out of this sequel.
For those of you not in the know, the original “Ready or Not” was a sleeper hit from 2019. It focused on this generation’s scream queen Samara Weaving being chased by a handful of sadistic billionaire as they play a life or death version of hide and seek.
There were laughs, there was gore, Satan made an appearance at one point.
Lots of things to like about this one for the horror hounds out there.
The sequel takes all of the elements that people liked about the first one, adds nothing new, and finishes with a climax that has you hoping it will just get end sooner rather than later.
That’s not to say there aren’t things to like about this movie, but the bad HEAVILY outweigh this good in what I can only describe as a cash grab after the surprise success of the first one.
I can only recommend this to the biggest fans of the first one, and even then it will just be a forgettable popcorn flick.
