When you’ve seen as many movies as I have, it’s hard to make one that goes in directions that I don’t see coming.
Normal is a film starring Bob Odenkirk as a small town sheriff in the titular town– Normal, Minnesota.
The viewers will very quickly find out however, that this small midwestern town is anything but.
The movie has a bit of a meandering start, but solid acting and interesting characters carry the film for the first 1/2 hour, before all hell breaks loose for the next 60 minutes.
Several interesting twists involving the inhabitants of the town lead you to an ending that, in my opinion didn’t stick the landing, but was a risk worth taking to give us a conclusion we don’t normally (no pun intended) get in this type of movie.
With a runtime at a brisk 91 minutes, this is one of those movies you won’t regret watching, but will ultimately forget shortly after you leave the theater.
For an in-depth (SPOILER FREE) review of the movie, listen to Balky and I break it down at the top of the article.
